Coquí Dream Studios
About

Small studio. Senior hands. Work that carries.

Coquí Dream Studios is a brand and growth studio led by Hector Ferran, based in Portland with roots in Puerto Rico. We build brands people want to belong to and the growth engines behind them, then hand them to your team to run.

Why the studio exists

Most companies do not have a brand problem or a growth problem in isolation. They have a brand problem that shows up as a growth problem, or a growth engine bolted onto positioning nobody can repeat. Studios that only do one side leave that seam for the client to fix.

Coquí works across both on purpose. We name what makes you different, then build the system that puts it in front of the right people. The two decisions get made in the same room, by the same operator, so they actually fit together.

How we work

Most engagements start as a scoped project with a clear outcome, so you know what you are getting, what it costs, and when it lands before it starts. Many continue into ongoing execution and management once the thing is built, because the studio can also run what it builds. The one thing handled separately is a fractional CMO, meaning Hector personally as your part-time marketing executive, at hectorferran.com.

Where it came from

Coquí is not a first attempt. Hector has been building brand and marketing agencies since their early twenties, and this is the third.

It started with VMI Media Group, the agency they founded in the Village of the Arts in Florida. It did website design, brand development, and marketing, produced public art, and ran its own arts and culture publication. That is where the studio's instinct for culture-driven growth actually comes from: building brands people want to belong to, learned firsthand in an arts community.

Years later they took over CT Studio, the brand and marketing agency inside Cointelegraph. It was six people, losing money, and barely delivering. They rebuilt it into a team of more than 65 across the world, with six-figure recurring revenue, launching work that got noticed, including a celebrity NFT program.

Then came Pan Crypto Labs, the web3 growth studio they founded and ran, which took more than 20 crypto and web3 brands from brief to measurable results. Pan Crypto became Coquí Dream Studios.

Close to two decades, three agencies, one through line: build the brand, build the engine behind it, and prove it with numbers. Read the fuller background on the team page, and see the receipts in the work.

Questions

About the studio.

Why is it called Coquí Dream Studios?

The coquí is a tiny tree frog native to Puerto Rico, small enough to hold and loud enough to hear across the whole island at night. That is the studio: small team, senior hands, work that carries far past its size. It is also a nod to the founder's roots.

Is Coquí a big agency?

No, and that is the point. It is a small studio that takes on a few clients at a time and builds each one with senior hands. You are not handed to a junior team. Studio is how we work, not a claim about headcount.

How is Coquí related to Pan Crypto Labs and hectorferran.com?

Coquí Dream Studios is the evolution of Pan Crypto Labs, the web3 growth studio Hector founded and ran; same entity, broader focus. The studio builds and runs marketing across brand and growth. hectorferran.com is Hector's personal fractional CMO practice, for clients who want them personally leading their marketing at the executive level rather than the studio doing the work.
